Day 5

I couldn't think of a name for this entry so I'm keeping it simple.  My dad was unexpectedly taken from us two weeks ago, and I really have no words to describe how much I miss him - hence my lack of a better title for this post...

I guess my love for photography is really thanks to him.  From when I was little, I could remember my dad taking pics with his film camera.  The Polaroid camera was also always close by in the early 80's and fond memories were created and kept with his pictures.  I'll feature some of these memories soon...

Shortly before he went to hospital, I was very proud to show him my blog and all the photographs I have posted on here.  (He still took me to Muizenberg to take the photo of Surfer's Corner - featured in my second blog post - so he was really amazed by the end result).
He then looked at me and said to my mom, "I am going to buy a new camera and start taking photo's again". Needless to say his time ran out before he could do that, so Dad, this blog is for you - so this will be OUR blog now.

I was walking on the beach, just grasping some of the awesomeness of the sunset on Saturday afternoon.  I felt almost as if my dad was there.  We could always be together and not say a single word, communicating without speaking... So Dad I know you will be close te me, just like before when we didn't have to say a word.

Day 4 - Random pics of my weekend

The weekend arrived and we got the fire going on Friday evening for an end-of-week braai at home.  As I looked up I couldn't resist shooting the sky from my backyard again (first image).  I really love sunsets and can never take enough pictures of the beautiful colors in the sky.  Each and every evening He paints a new and different sky than the day before.

Image 2 - We played a round of golf at Langebaan Country Club on Saturday when I found this empty little tortoise shell lying in the rough (while searching for someone else's ball ;) )  It was so small and it fitted into the golf cart's cup-holder. Just had to capture the beautiful texture of the shell.

Image 3 - was taken on Saturday evening as we were having a sundowner at the Farmhouse in Langebaan - reminding me of the Greek Islands.

Day 3 - Adele & Claudia

I have known Adele for 5 years and she has been a super-amazing, supportive friend to me in both joyous, and very low times in my life.  Apart from being a wonderful friend, she is also mother to her three angels: the twins, Claudia & Cara - now in grade 6, and Carmen - who turned 12 yesterday.  As we were enjoying a weekend at the beach in late April this year, I hinted to them that I needed a model or two... so here are the pics of Adele & Claudia's Beach shoot.
PS: Looking forward to shoot all four girls together...!
